Counseling in Boca Raton FL

If you seek counseling in Boca Raton FL at Morgan Center for Counseling & Wellbeing, counseling sessions are individually tailored to fit your particular goals and needs. The therapeutic process generally starts with one or more counseling sessions that focus on assessing your unique situation.  Our therapist, Jody Morgan, LCSW, CCTP, ACHT will help you establish realistic goals and based on mutual agreement proceed with counseling. This will help keep the therapy sessions focused on your specific goals. To assist you with feeling more relaxed and comfortable, we talk about some of the many approaches we use at Morgan Center that may be utilized during your path to healing. While traditional talk therapy can achieve good results, other integrative and expressive modalities may also be suggested. We employ valuable evidence-based practices that have been proven highly effective through research and our own experience. Various approaches suit individuals differently. Please feel free to call with any questions about what to expect from our counseling in Boca Raton FL treatments for:

Our therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. However, we allow extra time for your first session, which often lasts up to 90 minutes. Your therapist will help you define the expected length of time needed for the healing process. Morgan Center uses a variety of therapeutic modalities and finding the one best for each client helps to ensure that clients receive the most effective therapy. We help to resolve issues and help build coping skills so that individuals can function independently rather than stay in therapy indefinitely. In some cases only a handful of sessions beyond the initial assessment are required, more commonly a few months are beneficial, whereas someone with a complex trauma history or other complex issue will most likely need long-term therapy.

Counseling sessions are generally scheduled once or twice per week (more often if needed for more severe or crisis situations, or if you are only in town for a period of time) and can then be tapered off as progress continues. Periodic follow-up sessions are also available even after the primary time period of therapy has ended.  Whatever the frequency of therapy, consistency is very important to allow for progress and evaluation.
